Sharing care with Veronica House
What is respite care?
It can feel very rewarding when you take care of your loved one, but we understand it can also physically and mentally drain. Having breaks and recharging your batteries is therefore crucial to sustaining your wellbeing and quality of life.
Veronica House offers professional short-term and temporary care for those living with dementia mental health problems and complex behaviour.
Be it support while your loved one recovers from an operation or illness, an emergency you need to attend to or just a well-deserved break, rest assured our friendly and inviting home is always here to help with its experienced multidisciplinary teams.
We offer respite care from as short as a week to as long as a few months, working around you and your loved one to suit individual needs.
The benefits of respite care
You can take time to rest, unwind or handle emergencies with the knowledge your loved one is receiving exemplary care in a warm, safe and professional environment. You can also visit and call whenever suits you to ensure your loved one is happy and being cared for.
Additionally, respite care can serve as a wonderful break for your loved one, giving them the chance to experience a change of scenery, get involved with exciting activities and make new friends and memories. This period of time can also give you a taste of long-term care arrangements if ever required.
Holistic care
The ladies and gentlemen of Veronica House receive equal levels of individualised, person-centred and holistic care, whether they are in our family for the long-term or a short time.
This means each person we care for receives their own furnished room, which they can decorate with personal items to keep their environment feeling familiar, comfortable and safe. We will also encourage your loved one to participate in our care home’s community spirit, including the many activities we run.
