Referrals, fees and funding
Securing a place at Veronica House
If you or your loved one is interested in joining the Veronica House care home, please contact us for an initial discussion. Our Matron will then arrange to visit your or your loved one’s home and fully assess your needs and wishes.
Our Matron will meet with both the Registered Manager and clinical team to explore the care opportunities we can provide for you or your loved one. We are upfront and transparent about the services we offer and their associated costs, which includes being flexible to specific needs and offering immediate placements when required.
Paying for care
Care can be paid for in several different ways depending on each individual’s situation, including an assessment of their needs and financial position.
The NHS or local authority will cover fees in some instances, whereas other circumstances may require self-funding or a combination of both. In any case, we aim to make sure you have the best advice and guidance and can support you in securing funding.
While Veronica House isn’t able to establish moving-in dates until funding has been confirmed, our Registered Manager is available to help you through this sometimes lengthy process. You can also get in touch with the Alzheimer’s Society’s National Dementia Helpline on 0300 222 1122 or speak with your NHS Trust or local authority for further information.
Fees and funding
Veronica House fees are £2000-£2300 per week which excludes one-to-one and personal expenditure. This is reviewed yearly as part of the local authority’s annual care assessment.
Personal expenditure may include:
- Professional hairdressing
- Magazines and newspapers for personal use
- Personal purchases including fresh flowers for individual rooms, stationery, confectionery, alcohol, certain snacks and toiletries
- Clothing and footwear
- Dry cleaning

Moving in
We will support you or your loved one so the transition from home to home is as smooth as possible when joining the Veronica House family.
This includes visits to us before your move to be introduced to the team, who will work with you to personalise your or your loved one’s room.
Individualised care plans, risk assessments, medication and other assistance will also be in place on the day you move in, as well as practical arrangements such as changing your GP and establishing financial support.
We will evaluate how you or your loved one is settling in after two weeks to make sure all needs are being met and any changes to arrangements can be made accordingly.
Please get in touch with our Registered Manager or Matron on 0121 505 1110, or visit our contact page, if you have any queries about this process.
